Maria Jose Rivera is an accomplished trademark and copyright law attorney. Fluent in English and Spanish, Maria Jose has experience in the United States Trademark Office, United States Copyright Office (Library of Congress), and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. She represents clients in trademark prosecution, including trade dress, and domain name enforcement. Her experience includes clearance and prosecution of trademarks, brand protection and enforcement in the federal trademark office as well as trademark offices throughout the Caribbean. Maria Jose routinely represents clients in domain name actions under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy. She also represents entertainment clients in copyright clearance for film, television, and media.
Prior to joining McHale & Slavin, Maria Jose worked in media companies NBCUniversal Telemundo and Univision, where she cleared media rights for motion picture productions, digital content, and marketing campaigns in compliance with copyright law, the Federal Communications Commission and Federal Trade Commission. As entertainment law counsel, she gained expertise in production and served on Miami Lawyer for the Arts, providing pro-bono legal services to artists and entrepreneurs.
She graduated law school with distinction in intellectual property law, where she was elected to serve as a certified student practitioner for the Suffolk University Intellectual Property & Entrepreneurship Clinic in trademark cases on behalf of entrepreneurs, dismissing oppositions before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. During law school, Maria Jose interned at Argentine law firm Beretta Godoy in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Maria Jose serves on the committee of the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) Famous and Well-Known Marks and Social Media. In her free time, Maria Jose enjoys music, film, and the arts. She studied abroad in Florence, Italy during college and likes to travel. Her hobbies include running, playing tennis, and dancing.

This experience was instrumental during his design work on engineering projects for a number of major corporations including NASA, General Dynamics, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, General Electric, Westinghouse, Raytheon, Ford, Toyota, and Honda.
Born and raised in Illinois, Mr. Campbell has had a life-long passion for race car driving and has raced with many notables including A.J. Foyt, Al Unser, Jr., and Jeff Gordon.
