McHale & Slavin P.A. is pleased to announce that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded the Nine Millionth Patent Number to their client WiperFill Holdings of Jupiter, Florida.
On April 10, 2015 the USPTO held a celebration tohonor the 225th Anniversary of the First Patent Act. At the same time the USPTO honored inventor Matt Carroll as the recipient of U.S. Patent Number 9,000,000.
The invention that was awarded this historic patent number is a system and method of collecting and conditioning rainwater and other moisture from a windshield of a vehicle and utilizing the collected fluid to replenish the fluids in the windshield washer reservoir. A collection funnel is positioned to collect and condition the fluid using a conditioning cartridge where the collected liquid is de-ionized and protected against freezing. The mixed fluid is then directed to the pre-existing windshield washer reservoir.
Designed to eliminate the need to manually refill the wiper fluid reservoir, the device collects water at the base of the windshield and directs it through a custom mixing device to produce clean, spot-free cleaning fluid for use in cleaning the windshield. Ryan McRoberts is the president of WiperFill Holding Corporation.
The law firm of McHale & Slavin filed a provisional application to protect the invention on March 13, 2012 and filed the non-provisional application on March 12, 2013. The Patent Registration issued on April 10, 2015 and includes a 163 day extension to the 20 year term. The law firm was com-plimented for drafting a patent application which comports with the historical significance of the United States 9,000,000th patent.
